Community Ventures is pleased to welcome Joshua Wessel as a Housing Specialist serving Fulton County and the surrounding region.
For Joshua, this new role is also a return. After nine years away from Western Kentucky, he is coming back to a region he knows, values, and feels called to serve. He previously lived in Graves County, where he served as Executive Director of the Mayfield-Graves County YMCA before continuing his work in community engagement with a Kentucky-based nonprofit health plan.
At Community Ventures, Joshua will work directly with individuals and families as they move toward stable homeownership. His role includes education, one-on-one support, partnership development, and coordination with local leaders and organizations that share a commitment to stronger housing outcomes.
Joshua brings a broad and practical understanding of the challenges families face when trying to move from immediate need into long-term stability.
His background spans workforce development, health insurance, education, client services, and nonprofit leadership. Most recently, he served with Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, where he helped oversee career centers serving thousands of individuals each year and supported programs focused on employment, retention, and long-term client success.

In his work with Community Ventures, Joshua is especially looking forward to helping bridge gaps and remove barriers for individuals and families seeking stable housing.
“My background across multiple nonprofit sectors has given me a broad perspective on the challenges families face,” Joshua shared. “I believe this experience allows me to take a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to supporting families as they work toward long-term housing stability.”
Outside of work, Joshua and his wife, Melissa, share a full family life with their four children. Their faith is central to their lives, and they enjoy being active in their church, spending time outdoors, and working on their small orchard, where they are growing apples, pears, peaches, blueberries, and more.
Community Ventures is grateful to welcome Joshua back to Western Kentucky and onto the team. His steady commitment to service, his regional experience, and his heart for helping families move toward stability will be a meaningful asset to the people and communities he serves.
Individuals and families in Fulton County and the surrounding region who are working toward stable homeownership are encouraged to connect with Joshua and Community Ventures for support by emailing jwessel@cvky.org and visiting https://www.cvky.org/homeownership-support/
