LEXINGTON, KY. (August 16, 2023) – During the East End Celebration this weekend, Art Inc. Kentucky, an artist incubator supported by Community Ventures, will host Lexington’s second annual East End Arts and Music Festival at Artists’ Village Art Park on Goodloe Street on Saturday August 19. This free late summer festival showcases the artistic talents of local and regional creatives. Attendees can enjoy live music, artist booths, food vendors, live artist demonstrations, and children’s activities.

“Art has the ability to bridge demographics and bring communities together and the East End Arts and Music Festival does just that while giving visitors an opportunity to appreciate the creative talents of some of Kentucky’s finest artists,” said Mark Johnson, East End resident and President of Art Inc. Kentucky. “We invite the public to join us to enjoy original works and the artists that create them.”

Artists’ Village residents Nancy Steele, Stephanie Batts, Kenneth Burney, and Mark Johnson will hold live demonstrations so attendees can see art in the making. Art Inc. member artists and other visiting artists will showcase their acrylic, watercolor, wood, glass, and fiber works in booths at the festival.

Food vendors at the festival include Rolling Oven, V’s Catering, Bourbon Bon Bons, and Happy Opossum Candy and Popcorn. Cool jazz and R&B tunes will be provided by central Kentucky’s Keith McCutcheon Trio and Mary Jackson. Festival goers of all ages will enjoy seeing and learning about Kentucky Reptile Zoo’s sleek and scaly friends, and can watch the creation of colorful reptile art. Other children’s activities include face painting.

The East End Arts and Music Festival is sponsored by Art Inc. Kentucky, Community Ventures, and the City of Lexington. To learn more about the East End Arts and Music Festival, visit ArtIncKentucky.org/EastEndArtsandMusicFestival.
