LOUISVILLE, KY. (October 12, 2023) – The Women’s Business Center of Kentucky (WBC), supported by Community Ventures (CV) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), today announced it will launch a ‘Women in Business Expo’ on November 9 in Louisville. The Expo will equip female and minority entrepreneurs with the tools necessary to launch and grow their businesses successfully.
“We understand the unique challenges that women—particularly those who are economically or socially disadvantaged—face when starting a business,” said Devanny King, Executive Director of the WBC. “This event connects entrepreneurs with key advice from successful businesswomen and resources that can help make their business dreams a reality.”
According to the SBA, in 2022, women owned nearly 41 percent, and minorities owned nearly 8 percent of Kentucky businesses. Over 10,300 of these women-owned businesses and 4,440 minority-owned businesses had employees.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, November 9, from 4:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST at Ten20 Brewery in Louisville’s Butchertown district, and admission is $20. The Expo includes networking opportunities, an entrepreneurial panel discussion, and a pitch competition.

The Women’s Business Center of Kentucky is pleased to join with sponsors Truist Bank, WOW Factor Collective, Ten20 Brewery, Kentucky Innovation Cabinet for Economic Development, and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) to aid female entrepreneurs in effectively starting and scaling their businesses.
Earlier this year, WBC hosted business expos in Bowling Green and Owensboro, making the Louisville Expo the third entrepreneurial event hosted by WBC in 2023. WBC plans to hold an expo in Lexington and one in London in the spring of 2024.
