MILLERSBURG, KY. (May 10, 2024) – A 2024 Water and Environment grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation will help fund the creation of a fountain and splash pad as part of the renovation of the park in Millersburg’s town square. The $40,000 grant was awarded to non-profit Community Ventures.
“Healthy communities provide public spaces where residents can gather and connect,” said Community Ventures CEO Kevin Smith. “We are proud to partner with the City of Millersburg to assist them in revitalizing the Millersburg town square and park, and we are grateful to American Water Charitable Foundation for awarding this grant to help make that happen.”
“The City of Millersburg appreciates the support of Community Ventures on this project,” said Millersburg Mayor Julie Hopkins. “Building a strong and healthy city requires teamwork, and we are thankful to have such great partners.”
The new town square park in Millersburg will include a recoated wrought iron fence, decorative lighting, handicap-accessible sidewalks, an American and POW/MIA flag, and an expanded patio under a shelter.

The Water and Environment grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and aims to support high-impact projects and initiatives that further American Water’s commitment to ESG, as well as, inclusion, diversity, and equity.
