Community Ventures Taps Lexington Native To Fill Brand Experience Director Position


LEXINGTON, KY. (June 13, 2023) Community Ventures taps Lexington native Krista Buckel to fill the non-profit’s Director of Brand Experience position. In this role, Buckel provides a strategic vision for maintaining and advancing the community-based organization’s brand throughout Kentucky. Buckel also oversees content creation and aligns communications initiatives with the priorities and goals of 11 companies within Community Ventures.

“Small businesses and families are the lifeblood of communities across Kentucky,” said Brand Experience Director Krista Buckel. “It is an honor to join an organization dedicated to supporting those building and shaping the future of the Commonwealth.”

Buckel comes to Community Ventures with an extensive background in communications and leadership, having served most recently as the Communications Director for the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General in Frankfort. In addition to leading all communications, she was responsible for planning and coordinating state and national press appearances. Before that position, Buckel was the Executive Director of Communications and Public Outreach for the Commonwealth’s Public Protection Cabinet, overseeing a strategic communications plan for nine diverse regulatory agencies within the Cabinet.

Buckel’s background includes over 15 years of marketing, business development, and public relations experience across various industries, including higher education, finance, tourism, architecture and engineering, and state government.

“Krista comes to us with unique experience in both the public and private sector,” said Brian Hutchinson, Community Ventures’ Chief Development Officer. “Her roles have served a public good, and she has demonstrated the capacity to connect complex issues with real solutions.
