COMMUNITY VENTURES TAPS BOURBON COUNTIAN BART HORNE TO FILL PRESIDENT OF REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT POSITION

LEXINGTON KY. (February 20, 2025) – Kentucky-based nonprofit Community Ventures (CV) has announced the addition of Bart Horne to the CV team. In the position of President of Real Estate Development, Horne will oversee all of the company’s real estate development activities, including new construction (both residential and commercial), housing and revitalization activities. Horne will provide leadership to all of CV’s real estate endeavors, while paying particular attention to the company’s priorities regarding revitalization of neighborhoods and the needs of the people who live there.

“Bart fulfills a critical need within our organization” said Kevin Smith, CEO of Community Ventures. “He brings wide-ranging expertise in both residential and commercial property construction and management, and we look forward to the impact Bart will have in furthering CV’s work of creating quality housing and expanding new business opportunities across the Commonwealth.”

Horne began his career in the early 1980s as the Sales and Marketing Manager of Kentucky Classic Homes, becoming the owner and CEO in 1986. Horne led the company in the development of ten subdivisions, building over 800 Central Kentucky homes during his tenure. He has been an active licensed real estate broker in Kentucky since 1984, and is a member of the Lexington Board of Realtors.

Most recently, Horne was with DeanBuilds, Inc., a commercial and industrial construction company, where his focus was in project management and business development. Prior to that, Horne served as Georgetown College’s Director of Facilities where he led the departments of maintenance and plant operations, grounds and building services and was the general contractor for projects including Hambrick Village Dormitory and the renovation of Ensor Library and the Tiger Softball Complex.

“I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of Community Ventures,” said Horne. “I’m amazed at the talent within the organization, and the wide scope of services and work this team provides to communities all across Kentucky. I feel the experience I’ve gained over the course of my career creating housing and business opportunities fits well with the mission of Community Ventures.”
