Bringing Essential Services to Winchester, Tenneessee
In 2021, K-VA-T Food Stores (Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee Food Stores) completed a $65 million project to build a 54,000-square-foot Food Lion grocery store in Winchester, Tennessee. This initiative was supported by $6 million in New Markets Tax Credit funding, with $5 million provided and Truist Bank as the primary investor. The store features a full-service bakery and deli, a 500-square-foot pharmacy, a Starbucks, and an in-store bank, making it a one-stop destination for essential goods and services.
K-VA-T also acquired an adjacent property to develop an off-site fuel station, further expanding the services available to the community. Located in a designated food desert and medically underserved census tract, this new store directly addresses critical local needs by providing access to fresh groceries, healthcare services, and fuel options for residents.
This project is not just about retail—it’s about enhancing the quality of life for Winchester residents by creating a vital community hub.
