Purpose of This Notice
This notice is issued in accordance with HUD HOME regulations (24 CFR 92.356) and Kentucky Housing
Corporation (KHC) RHTF/HOME CHDO requirements. Public disclosure is required when a potential conflict of interest may exist in a project supported with HOME or RHTF funds.
Nature of the Potential Conflicts
- A prospective borrower is related to someone who works at a bank with whom Community Ventures has a
business relationship and provides first mortgage financing for CV clients. This borrower would also receive
their first mortgage financing from this bank. - A prospective borrower is related to the contractor who builds houses for Community Ventures. Additionally,
the property under consideration was once owned by Community Ventures, later sold to the contractor as a
rental property, and is now being considered for purchase under the RHTF program.
Conflict-of-Interest Management – Conflict #1
- Community Ventures does not receive any special treatment in its business dealings with the bank.
- Community Ventures does not provide any special terms, pricing, or conditions to the borrower that would not
be available to any other borrower.
Conflict-of-Interest Management – Conflict #2
- Community Ventures does not provide any special terms or conditions to the borrower beyond what any other
borrower would receive. - Community Ventures does not pay the contractor/seller more than market value.
- Community Ventures does not pay the contractor more for rehabilitation work than would be typical for similar
RHTF projects.
Purpose of Public Posting
This posting ensures transparency, allows public comment, and supports any conflict-of-interest exception request submitted to KHC.
